Heath Mount Primary School is a two-form entry school, located near the centre of Birmingham. They work hard to create a bright, exciting, learning-focused environment where children prosper and enjoy their learning. There are study areas in each phase of the school to enable groups of children to receive intensive, focused teaching. There is an ever-increasing focus on the use of ICT across the curriculum and there is an innovate Star Trek Enterprise themed computer suite. The school is also taking advantage of using laptops wirelessly around the school.
The school understands the value of having an engaging and up-to-date website to provide the community with a whole range of details about school life, important policy documentation and other statutory information. However, the school had been experiencing a number of serious issues with a third party supplier who provided and hosted their website. Because of these ongoing problems, Link2ICT were able to respond and resolve the outstanding technical difficulties with our reliable, secure solution that schools need. We spoke to Raj Sahota, Headteacher at the school, about the issues they had experienced and how we were able to help.
“Right from the beginning, we had issues with the third party hosting delivering the school draft website on time. This was not a good start! Afterwards there were ongoing issues with support and basic contact. We were not getting any response to our emails or telephone calls, which was highly frustrating and disappointing. When we did get through, some issues were taking months to be resolved and others were still outstanding. Eventually the web hosting service kept going down, meaning our website was not available. This was unacceptable, and having begun in early 2016, the problems were ongoing for over six months. Therefore, we decided we needed to move away. We needed a reliable solution and were not getting this from the third party supplier.

Link2ICT did all the preparation and migration of the school website, so we were free to get on with all the other priorities we have in school. Having the peace of mind that we didn't have to worry about that process is invaluable. Plus, the work was carried out remotely, again saving time for Ali who could dedicate his time supporting the teaching and learning.
With the problem fixed, our website is now hosted by Link2ICT and we have not had one single problem with the web hosting since we moved.
