Introduction to the General Data Protection Regulations and Data Protection Act 2018

This webinar session is designed to introduce new staff to the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) requirements as this forms part of the data protection governance together with the new Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA 2018).

Course Aims:

The Data Protection Act 2018 is based on the requirements of the GDPR.  GDPR harmonises all data privacy laws amongst member EU states, giving a greater level of protection and rights to individuals.  The Act affects every organisation and company that own or processes personal data. 

The areas covered in the webinar session include:

  • An individual’s role and responsibility within GDPR
  • Who has ultimate responsibility for compliance at your school
  • How your school upholds the 7 principles
  • Different types of personal data
  • How special data is treated
  • How to comply with Information Security at all times

Course outcome:

This course will enable delegates to:

  • Familiarise their responsibility for handling personal data and ensure data protection is applied at all times
  • Ensure you comply with Information Security at all times

This course is intended for:

This course is intended for all new school staff that is new to GDPR.  This is aimed at school administrative staff, teachers, school leaders and governors.

This webinar is 45 minutes session.
