Kodu is a new visual programming language made specifically for creating games. It is designed to be accessible for children and can be enjoyable for anyone creating games.
Course Aims & Objectives
The half day training course aims to develop a basic understanding of programming language and how it can be used to support the Computing Curriculum.
The course is aimed at Key Stage 2 teachers interested in using Kodu to support the Computing Curriculum and while no programming experience is required, it is expected that all participants possess basic computer and keyboarding skills.
At the end of the session you will be able to
- Complete problem solving, logic and storytelling skills, along with the basics of computer programming, while building a simple video game - all without writing any code
- Create a world in Kodu
- Identify cross curricular links
